Strong sales at Ward Homes as confidence begins to return

LEADING Kent housebuilder, Ward Homes, has reported a strong sales performance in the first three months of the year, adding to hopes that the worst of the economic news may have passed.

Ward Homes has already sold 79 new homes in 2009. The company says its sales success is down to great locations and products, competitive prices and deals to suit all kinds of buyers.

All but 10 homes have now been sold at Kings Hill, West Malling, just seven homes remain in the current phase at Eden Village, Sittingbourne.  Throughout the region, properties are selling at a rate of nearly two per week.

The news comes on top of a number of indicators over the Easter period that the wider economy may have turned a corner.

Bank of England figures showed mortgage lending had increased by 19 per cent month on month. And the Nationwide Building Society released figures showing house prices had actually risen – for the first time in 16 months.

“We have seen a strong performance in terms of the number of homes sold and visitors to our sites in the last few months as more and more people realise that now could be the time to buy,” said Tim Nabbs, Sales Director at Ward Homes.

“We have a number of ways to help our customers move up the property ladder.

“If you’re a First Time Buyer you could move in for just 70 per cent of the price under the HomeBuy Direct scheme, which we operate in conjunction with the Government’s Homes and Communities Agency.

“And homeowners who want to move to a bigger property can take advantage of our Part Exchange service, so they don’t have to worry about finding a buyer for their old place.

“We are offering some of our best ever deals but they can only be available for a limited period and we are fast running out of stock. I’d advise anyone who’s interested in a great new home to come and talk to us soon.”
