Ward Homes Site Manager Wins Pride in the Job Award

Ward Homes Site Manager wins Pride in the job award for excellence in house building.

WARD HOMES site manager Bruce Constantine has been recognised with a coveted Quality Award in the prestigious National House-Building Council (NHBC) Pride in the Job competition for quality workmanship at Ward’s Kings Hill development in West Malling.

The award was presented to Bruce by Steve Catt, NHBC Regional Director for the South-East, at a party held at Kings Hill to celebrate the win.

Pride in the Job seeks out and rewards the best site managers across the UK. Judging takes place in unannounced visits by NHBC inspectors, who give scores across 38 different areas of site management, including technical knowledge, build consistency and leadership skills. 18,000 Site Managers across the country are entered into the awards.

Nick Fenton, Managing Director of Ward Homes, says:  “Pride in the Job is the most sought after award in the industry because it provides a highly accurate measure of performance and has become synonymous with high quality house building. I congratulate Bruce and his team on a superb achievement. It is also particularly gratifying that, out of the nine developers at Kings Hill, Ward Homes is the only one to achieve this award for outstanding workmanship.”

Bruce, who lives in Tunbridge Wells, adds: “You never know when an NHBC inspector is going to turn up for a frequency visit or to judge you for the Pride in the Job award, so he’s judging what we do every day. Building homes is a real team effort and we’re all delighted that the NHBC has recognised our work.”

Kings Hill is Kent’s flagship development of new homes, leisure amenities, shops, restaurants, schools and a nursery, set in landscaped grounds, close to West Malling.  Ward Homes has built a diverse range of reasonably priced homes, ranging from two-bedroom apartments to three, four and five-bedroom houses. With plenty of facilities and landscaped outdoor areas, the development enjoys a real sense of community.
